Sw00t! [02 Sep 2006|09:21am]
[ mood | cold ]
[ music | Tim Wilson - The Nascar Song ]

Today, I am officially one of the crowd! *sings happy birthday to self* I do wish that it was a little bit more sunny outside. But, I do suppose we need the rain. Weren't we under for the month of August or something? *doesn't really pay attention to the weather channel* Who knows?!

Anydangway, around 10:30-10:45, my mom and I are going up the the local Targét to put in my application. We chose today because I am in fact 16 and my brother is working at Target today. So, I guess he already talked to the manager or something and apparently if he/she isn't too busy at the moment, they'll call me in and they'll do the interview right on the spot. *is excited* So, just keep your fingers crossed that everything goes well. I'm not too sure what to wear though. I wanna dress nice, but then I'll look like a dork when they don't do the interview. LOL. Maybe I should dress the nice/casual. That's always a good decision. I'll wear a pair of blue jeans, high heels, and a button down shirt. That way I can just say, 'This is what I wear all the time.' *is smart*

Last night was our first volleyball game. We looked really good in the beginning and I don't know what happened after that. All I know is that I'm proud of myself because I scored two points. *does little dance* One was a fisted dink, and the other one, which is my pride and joy, was a back line spike. At first I thought that it was out. The setter put it way out to my right and I just swung at it with all my might. So, just by the way I felt myself hit the ball, I just assumed that it was a bad hit. But, at least I tried, right? Then I get hit by the ball when they rolled it under the net for us to serve. That's when I knew it was in. I started jumpin' like a little Mexican Jumping Bean. LOL. Although we lost, I still believe that it was a good start. Yes, we do play better in practice, but Varsity practices against J.V. And we really don't hit that hard to be quite honest. So, maybe with a few more drills and such, I think we'll get better. We only missed like 3-4 serves, which is great!

There isn't a play that I regret. No matter how many times I fell on my ass, or whatever, I still tried to hit the ball. I do wish, though, that I would have landed different. There was one play where the setter put it behind me and when I reached back to hit it, I lost my footing and I fell flat on my ass. I have a bruise on my bum, and I sprained my wrist. I was hoping that I wouldn't have to wear that wrist support thing, but I suppose I can't get away from it now. I hate that thing, it always messes up my bumps. Oh, well, I'll just have to learn to get under the ball more and not hit it off the wrist support. Well, I must get some breakfast and hop into the shower before we leave. Talk to you all later!!!!

[ music | Tim Wilson - The NASCAR Song ]

Trés mucho busy weekend...-o.  I had my birthday party on Friday/Saturday. Friday night, Leah, Brittany, and I went out to the mall, hung out, shopped (Of course), and then got our nails done. Leah was fighting with the one guy about the price. My mom and I went into the nail salon like a week before and they said that it was like $13. So, my mom gave me like $45 to pay for everyone's. Well, the bastards didn't say that it didn't include the price to paint your nails. (We all wanted French Manicures, duh!) Who the hell gets a manicure and then doesn't get their nails painted? Anyway, we're half way through the manicure and then they tell you that it's $17. Well, I didn't have enough to pay for everyone's and Britt said that she didn't mind payin' for hers. I felt really bad because of that. Then she saw a skirt that she just absolutely loved in GAP, so I let her borrow $2 because I made her pay for her nails. :-/

After that fiasco, we ordered pizza and wings from Pizzabella. *cheers for Pizzabella* We went to go pick it up for like 9:30 and Leah came in with me to help me carry stuff. We get in there and they say that it'll be another 8 minutes or so until the wings are done. We were a little early anyway. So, in the back, they had the Eagles vs. Steelers game on. Of course, me being the huge football fan I am, I went to go watch it. No sooner did we get all caught with what happened during the game, 6 little kids (like 13 years old.) come in. The one kid says, 'She can kick your ass.' And I said, 'Yeah, I prolly could.' just jokin' with him. Then the other kid says, 'Yeah, that's because you're 8 feet tall.' I said, 'I'm not 8 feet tall. Like 5'8'', maybe.' So, some time passes by and no one says a damn thing, thank God. Then Akers makes a 45-yard field goal and I go crazy (Akers is my man.). I'm yellin' and hollering, giving Leah a high five, then the one kid comes over and gives me a high five. My face was hysterical according to Leah. I just looked like, 'Okay. What the hell just happened to me?' Then, the wings were done and we were out of there faster than a cowboy on a bull.

By this time all of our stomachs were grumbling and we literally snarffed down our food while watching the rest of the game. And the Eagles won!!!! (Sorry for those Steeler fans out there.) After eating, I think we were all ready for a nap. Leah crapped out on us at like 11-11:30ish. Then, Britt and I started to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail. That didn't last too long. I think we watched like a half hour of it, then we sat out on the back porch listening to the thunderstorm and burping our ABC's. LOL. How interesting was that night?

Saturday, everyone came over and it took forever for me to open the presents. We played volleyball in the front yard for like 6 hours, or so it seemed. Then, we ate, played hide-and-seek. Jess hid on top of the camper and I was just waiting for her to fall off. LOL. All in all, I think everyone had a good time. No matter how many times we made Carmen go into the woods to get the ball because no one had shoes on. I'm still writing out the 'Thank You' cards. If I have to write one more 'Thank You' card, I think my hand is gonna fall off. LOL. Well, I have to go get ready for practice. Talk to y'all lata!!!!

Who needs a vacation? [16 Aug 2006|01:25am]
[ mood | sad ]
[ music | Linkin Park - Faint ]

I don't know about you guys, but I definately need a vacation. Today I seriously though that I was going to have a mental breakdown. I got up at 11:45ish, went out and did some yard work thinking that maybe I needed to get out in the sunshine a little bit, went to practice, had a shitty time, went to go pick out my birthday cake, that was a fiasco and a half, got pizza to go from Sam's, came home, didn't eat pizza or anything, cried myself to sleep, then got up around 10 or so. How exciting was my day? *sarcasm*

Saturday can't come soon enough. But it sucks because I didn't think that we'd be having practices on Friday since we didn't last year. Well, the past two weeks we've had practices on Fridays. Does Coach not have a life? Plus, she works us so hard, you can't help yourself but to come home and pass out for like 3 hours. So, I guess we'll see what disease is going around so I don't have to go to practice. I mean, who seriously wants to go to practice? Oh well. I guess you have to push yourself once in a while. Just not over the edge.

Yikes...I'm just going to cross my fingers and hope that tomorrow will be a better day than today and yesterday. I guess that I can just think that it's one more day closer to Thursday when I can watch NASCAR reruns. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. Yay. *feels a little better* I guess I'm gonna go find my iPod and try to relax a little bit.

Aw...I missed this. [13 Aug 2006|10:06pm]

[ music | Redskins vs. Bengals game ]

I can't believe that it's Sunday already. Where did this weekend go? I hardly did anything. Friday, my mom and I went to the movies as you all know. Brittany had to work, so we didn't do our traditional mall routine. Saturday...Saturday was officially the greatest day of my life.

Saturday was the day that Toby Keith came to the Toyota Pavilion at Montage Mountain. It was the best concert I have ever been to. Trace Adkin's concert was really fun, but this was so much better. Confetti, Toby Dollars, fireworks, funnel cake; you name it, 95% chance it was there. It was so perfect. It was just my friend Leah, her mother, and myself. Joe Nichols opened for Toby and that was pretty cool. I knew most of the words to his songs and Leah and I danced pretty much the whole time. I did take my boots off for like 10 minutes and then I put them back on because 1) I couldn't see anything and 2) my toes were going numb. We didn't get home until like 11:30. So, yeah. Saturday was pretty great if I do say so myself.

Today was my day to just relax, thank God. My mom didn't even bother waking me up for church. If she did, I don't remember. But, it's a good thing that she let me sleep because I prolly would have slept right through church. So, I slept until 11, got up, made some breakfast, watched the race (Congratulations Jamie!!!!), some men's volleyball, and I'm currently watching the Redskins vs. Bengals. I wish the score was a little different, but at least it's pre-season. Now, they know what needs to be done to make each team play to their fullest extent.

So, I suppose I'm going to watch the rest of the game, pray the score changes to how I want it to be, then I'm going to start a new book. G'night all!

[ music | The shower calling my name. ]

Eesh. I literally just got home. My mom and I went over to the Garden Drive-In in Hunlock Creek to see Talladega Nights and Monster House. I must say that Talladega Nights is my new favorite movie. It's got fast cars, hot racers, a good story, and comedy all in one. I think this one even tops Cars if you can believe it. I thought that it was really good. It was so good that I had to pee about a half hour into the movie, I held it until the very end when the credits started rolling. Of course, I ran and prolly knocked down fifty kabajillion people on my way there, but I didn't pee my pants. LOL. I don't think I've ever had to pee so bad in my life. And, of course, it's a Will Ferrell movie, so it's gonna be funny. Parts would come up that was hysterical, but I couldn't really laugh without having the fear of peeing my pants.

Monster House was really cute. It's definately not a kids movie, though. Too scary. They'll have night terrors until they're 18. So, in case anyone was interested in seeing either of these movies, I'd definately go see them both. But, if I had to choose which one was better, Talladega Nights wins hands down. :-D Welp, I gotta go take a shower, warm up a little and see if I can finish this book. G'night all!

Woo for Thursdays! [10 Aug 2006|03:24pm]
[ mood | sore ]
[ music | TV - Sunday's Race ]

Thursdays are great. Reruns of the past week's race, it's the last day of practice before the weekend comes, how much better can it get? Not much. I just wish that I wasn't so sore. Yesterday, we did lunges and duck walks. And I like neither. So, I'm a bit handicapped when I walk. I already fell down the hill in my front yard when I was getting the mail. Yay for scratches and grass stains!

I think today will be an okay day. Practice is only until 5, thank God. It was really supposed to be from 3-5, but Leah had an orthodontist appointment and she won't get there until like 4:30. So, there's no real point for her to go. Now, I'm just waiting for my mom to come home around 4 and then I'll go to practice.

One thing that I would never be so hard was wearing wrist supports. It's not because I have weak wrists, it's because I'm that clumsy. I hurt one while diving and then I hurt the other one serving. It was really weird having them taped, but I think it's even worse with these things on. I put them on a little earlier so that I'm used to them by the time that I have to leave for practice. I'm finding it quite difficult to type without thumbs. I hope I won't have to wear them much longer. Engh...

I suppose I should go get ready. I have nothing packed. Talk to y'all later!!!

This week's great! *sarcasm* [08 Aug 2006|02:53pm]
[ mood | sore ]
[ music | Linkin Park - Faint ]

Well, you all know what happened yesterday. Leah is going to go to practice early to talk to Ebon. Maybe we can either get him to take some Midol or get the hell out of there. I was going to talk to her after practice since I get there late sometimes.

So, as if yesterday couldn't have made my week already suck, I'm very crampy. *wink wink* Yeah, so that doesn't help much. Practice should be fun. You have one guy who is so cocky it just pisses everyone else off and a PMSing woman who is already pissed off at him. It should make for a great tv series. Maybe I should call MTV and have them cover it. *wonders*

Anyway, I suppose that this week can only go up from here. Saturday, Leah's mom got tickets for free for us to go see Toby Keith at the Toyota Pavalion. That'll be a hot concert. This month is just concert central. Trace Adkins was on Friday, Toby Keith is this Saturday. Gesh...I can't have a weekend to myself. I guess I can have the week after that. What's that? The 19th? Yeah, and that's about it. The week after that, the 26th, is when my mom and I planned my Sweet 16. Not much else was planned. All we know is that people will most likely swim, there's gonna be quite a few people, and there's gonna be food. Other than that, I guess we'll just have to improvise. I think she got a volleyball net. That won't take too long to set up. Thank God. The one we had was so old that half the net was ripped. I swear, you could fit a humpback whale through the hole.

Well, I suppose I should take a nap before practice so I'm not snapping at everyone who looks at me....Just Tom. :-D G'night!

Good day for no one [07 Aug 2006|06:48pm]
[ mood | Fucking Pissed ]

Ugh...Just got back from practice and I'm at a point where I never thought I can be. I have never been so frustrated with Tom (our 'assistant coach') ever before. No one knows who the hell he is or why he's there. He isn't helping anyone. I understand that we all have to be pushed sometimes, but this is just over the cliff. We did this new thing called pushing. When the setter sets you the ball and you can't hit it, you literally push it to the opposite corner. Well, it takes time for people to get used to it and no one has ever done it before. I know I do it wrong, but whenever I would do it wrong, Tom would say 'Straight! Push it straight!' NO SHIT! Telling me isn't going to help. It's all practice. It's how the saying goes, 'Practice makes perfect.' No one is going to get it right the first 10 times they do it.

Then we started dinking. I can't dink with my fingertips. I'm used to the two knuckle thing. But, my back has been killing me and my neck is so stiff that if I look up or around in certain directions or too fast it hurts like hell. Then Tom says, 'That's what they make doctors for.' I said, 'Well, my mom is gonna try to make an appointment tomorrow.' Then he says, 'Well, I want an excuse if you're going tomorrow.' The only excuse he's going to get is the excuse I'll give him for why I kick him in the God dammed balls. Excuse me because I'm in agonizing pain. So, needless to say, no one likes him.

And to even make matters worse, we were hitting and the ball actually went over the net, so Leah didn't even get a chance to hit it. Tom, Eric, and Brian were over on the other side blocking. I heard Tom say, 'I would have smacked that shit in her face.' WTF is that?! Sorry we weren't in the army like some assholes.
After practice, Leah literally balled in the car. I waited until I got home to cry. My mom got me Burger King and I haven't even touched it. I too upset to eat anything even if it is Burger King. I have never met someone who can be such a damn prick! It's just unthinkable in my mind, but I guess you learn something new everyday.

People are prolly going to tell my to quit, but I'm not giving that bastard the satisfaction that he got to me. If he even looks at me the wrong way, he better be lucky that someone will hold me back. I will make an imprint of his face into the floor for future reference.

So, signing off to go scream and beat the hell out of things.

Eesh.... [06 Aug 2006|11:27am]
[ mood | sore ]

I know, I'm slackin' on the whole ''update'' issue. I just haven't found the time. Friday night, my parents and I went down to Musikfest to see Trace Adkins. *angelic music* Yes, all 6'6'' of his hottness! We had an absolutely great time. But, I must say, if the gates open at 6, why can't we just be there for 6? Why the hell must we get there at frickin' 4:30 when nothing even opens until 5?! *doesn't get it* That just made it so much more boring that it had to be. There was nothing to do. I understand that they can't open/sell anything until 5, but then make sure that things are ready so that you can open at 5. That's another thing that ticked me off. In order to buy one lousy drink, you had to get in one long-ass line to buy tickets, then you had to get into another long-ass line to get the frickin' drink. It's like the bit that Ron White does with the coupins. 'Yeah, good chances that I'll get a beer by Thursday.' ALL I WANTED WAS A FRICKIN' DRINK!!!!

Other than that, a fun time was had by all. I took a lot of videos on my phone. It was so funny because when he did 'Honky Tonk Ba-Donk-A-Donk' I was recording it. Then just as the song was over, I got a dead battery signal on my camera. How's that for timing?

Then, last night was Carmen's Sweet 15 party. This, my friends, was a party that everyone should have been at. The food was great (her mom is now one of the best cooks I know.). Carmen looked beautiful in the dress she wore. If I knew how to post pictures and things on LJ, I would. But, Brittany hasn't taught me yet. Her dress was red, with lots of poofiness under it and it had little white polka dots on it. It was really pretty. This was the first time I have ever seen Carmen wearing nails, too. They were really nice, but before the night was officially over, she had them chewed off. Go figure. I was teasing her that I would have paid to see her set in volleyball practice with those nails on. Hehe.
I don't know about Leah, but I am sore as could be from that party. When we first got there, we ate, and talked to Lola, Carmen, and Magali. Then, when things really started rolling, I got up and videotaped the dances they did when Carmen received her tiara, shoes, doll, and flowers. When she got the doll, she was almost crying which almost made me cry. After that, the guys asked the girls to dance which made me really uncomfortable because everyone was dressed up and I wore shorts, a tank top, and my cowboy hat. How underdressed was I? But, we all loosened up and started dancing. It was so much fun. I don't think that I have ever danced so much in my entire life. Magali's friend Joel, kind of taught me how to dance. I don't know how many times I told him that I was just a white country girl with no rhythm. He made it look so easy, then I tried to do it and I looked drunk/high. Then, after a little while, I got it. It's actually pretty easy when you don't look at your feet. That was my problem. I'd try to do the same thing he was doin' and I would eventually trip or something.

So, that was a lot of fun for everyone. Leah and I didn't actually leave the party until like midnight. Then Sang showed up, so, we didn't get to have any fun with her. At first we didn't think that she was coming, but Leah said that she talked to Sang online or something and Sang made it seem like she was coming. Well, I suppose we have to give her some credit for showing up. So what if it was at midnight when just about everyone left?

Well, this has been a long journey for me and it's Sunday. You know what the means? THE RACE IN ON!!!! WOO!!! *cheers* I'm gonna go grab some lunch and watch Race Day Live. See y'all later!!!!

YAY FOR SERVICE ELECTRIC!!! [02 Aug 2006|01:30pm]
[ mood | hot ]
[ music | NFL Network ]

We have officially gotten NFL Network and I am in my glory. It is now my favorite channel. I just hope that it stays. My dad and I are thinking that maybe they put it on just to see what it was like, then you can pay extra for it. Oh well. I'm taking advantage of it while it's on. I've been watching it nonstop for the past two days. In between America's Next Top Model and Law & Order, of course.

Practice is cancelled for today and that is a God send. I was watching the weather last night and they were calling for a high of 98º. I'm just happy that we're not on the terf anymore. It's like an extra 100º hotter on the terf. You ask anyone who goes to G.A.R. and they will tell you the same thing.

All I will say is that I'm glad that we have a pool when it's this extremely hot. The only other thing that I could possibly need is a waterproof tv that I can put on the deck to watch NFL Network. I need my sports. It's like my morning coffee.
I think I hear the pool calling my name and I think I will go. As soon as this show is over. LOL. Signing off!

[ mood | hot ]
[ music | White Zombie - Thunder Kiss '65 ]

Since when are Tuesday's this boring? There's not much on tv at 2 PM. I've been watching NFL Network like all day and I need something new and exciting. It's all just Hall Of Famers. Now, if it was a Classic Game or something, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Plus, it's trés mucho hot and I can't stand humidity.

I just hope that we're in the gym for practice today. Some of the girls said that we won't be able to get in. It's just too hot to practice outside. And there's no breeze underneath the cafeteria. It's just disgusting. Just keep your fingers crossed. It's no fun being outside with no net. We need to be inside because some girls still don't know how to serve. Come on, I understand it for those who had to straighten out their schedules, but those who have been there since we started practice 2-3 weeks ago have no excuse. Coach isn't asking everyone to serve overhand. It's just the underhand that everyone does in gym! I could do that when I was like 5.

Ugh...*breathes slowly* It just bothers me too much I guess. Anyway...Yesterday was the first time that we really got on the court to practice as if it was a game. The only thing is people couldn't get their serves in. I understand that not every serve is going to go over, but these ladies have to get their serves in. Some of them didn't get it over once. I don't know. But, not we're split up into two groups. Yesterday it was kind of hard to get everyone to play. You can only have 6 girls on each side of the court at a time. So, with 31 girls on the team, not everyone got a chance to play. Now, there's a 2-4 group and 4-6 group. It just makes it so much easier. Now, more girls can get hands on time without having to wait in those never ending lines. We still don't really have an assistant coach. Cassie's sister,  Cindy, came yesterday and helped us with some drills and such. I think if we had the two groups thing yesterday, it would have went a lot smoother. But, we're starting it today. So, I guess I shouldn't complain much.

We're still trying to figure out what to do for fundraisers. Since our car wash got rained out on Friday, we didn't make much money. Last year we made about $500. So, that covered the new uniforms and some new balls and knee pads for the girls who didn't have any. This year we're hoping to get end-of-the-year gifts. I suppose that Coach is going to talk to my mom and see what else we should do. We definately know that we're going to do the Gertrude Hawks chocolates when school starts. That way we can sell them during the school day and have our parents take some to work. I know a lot will be sold at the hospital where my mom works. She says that there's always people looking for chocolate after lunch. So, that's a very good bonus. And with 31 girls on the team, that'll really help.

I think we're also selling Dominoe's Pizza cards. You sell them for $10 and keep $9. Most Dominoe's places accept them. Everytime you buy a pizza or something, you get something else at an equal or lesser value for free. So, it basically pays for itself when you use it the first time. I'm not sure what else we can sell. If any of you have some sort of an idea where another car wash can be held, leave a comment. Some of the girls were saying that the cheerleaders are having one at the mall. Where would you have a carwash at the mall? At Sears, but where would you have water hook up? Who knows? Let's just say I don't think we'll be having a carwash at the mall. LOL. I told Coach that we should have it at Sam's Club. You can do it in their frickin' huge parking lot and then set up tables where people come out with signs and buckets for donations. People do that all the time. I guess we'll just have to make do with what we can get. Well, I think the pool is callin' my name. *takes out towel and sunscreen* See y'all later!

Phillies got crushed 12-2. How can you win two straight games yesterday and then get crushed today?! *doesn't understand it* Now, they're trading Bobby Abreu and Cory Lidle for 4 Minor Leaguers. WTF?! I don't care who you think you will get, that's the dumbest decision the Phillies have ever done! Bobby Abreu was their best hitter. Oh, well. It's not like they're going to the World Series or anything. I can't do anything about it now. I guess I can take my anger out when we hit at volleyball practice. If I don't die on the way there. I should just tell my mom to call the doctor. I hate going to the doctor's office more than I have to. Plus, it was getting better, not it hurts to sit and move certain ways. Yeah, I think it'll be better if I just die. LOL. Well, gotta go get my smelly knee pads on and grab my Gatorade. My mom should be home soon. Bye, y'all!

Well, it's Day 2 and I figured I should update this. Not much happened tonight. Britt and I went to the mall as usual. I got a purse on sale for $17 (which I am very proud of) as well as new nail polish because I'm not creative. I helped Britt pick out a new outfit for her job interview from Lane Bryant. Man, it's so hot. And it was on sale!!!! I bring good sales. Other than that, we're waiting for my mom to make hotdog rolly things with cheese in them. I have absolutely no idea what they're called, but they're kick ass. Then, we're going to have s'mores for dessert because SOMEONE *cough* BRITTANY!!!! *cough* has never had one. So, we're going to improvise with the Hershey's Kissable because we're poor and don't have chocolate bars. Oh well, it'll be good. I haven't had a s'more that I didn't like. Then, I suppose we'll plan on watching a whole bunch of movies and such. I'm going to go finish watching Billy Madison with Brittany until the food is done. Bye!

[ music | Count Zero - Sail Your Ship By ]

I miss this so much. I totally forgot about LJ. Is that sad? Well, I hope I use this a lot more than I did the last time I had one. Today was good compared to the other days of this week. Volleyball wasn't exactly as much of a killer as I thought it would be. Thank God. The lunges still do a number on my thighs, but it's keepin' my fat butt in shape. I'm tryin' very hard to not make excuses this year and I want to try to push myself a little farther and harder. It seems to be going well, but I don't want to jinx anything. I have a carwash tomorrow at Wal-Mart from 11AM-5PM. We did it last year and raised like $500. It helped us out a lot. But, that was our only fundraiser. We definately need to do more than one carwash this year. And with my mom as the Booster Mom (don't laugh. I've already done it for everyone.) maybe it'll all get done. Well, I shall be going. Peace!!!!!!!!!
